Two editions, one release date. Here is exactly what separates Standard from Ultimate and who each one is for.
What the Standard Edition includes
The Standard Edition is the full game plus the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. Nothing in the single-player story is held back from this edition — the campaign, the map and every mission are identical.
It is the right choice if you mainly want the story and plan to play online casually.
What the Ultimate Edition adds
The Ultimate Edition stacks the Ultimate Edition Upgrade on top of everything in Standard: additional vehicles, weapons, outfits and cosmetic packs that drop into your account at launch.
If you play online a lot, the upgrade saves a long grind for cosmetics and starter vehicles, which is where most of its value sits.
Price and the launch discount
Both editions currently carry a launch discount that is shown next to the crossed-out full price on the pre-order page. The discount is tied to the release countdown, so when the timer runs out both editions return to their full price.
Prices display in your own currency automatically based on the country version of the site you are on.
The short answer
Story-first players: Standard. Online-first players and collectors: Ultimate. Either way, ordering while the countdown is still running is cheaper than ordering after it.
Pre-Order Grand Theft Auto VI
The launch discount runs only until the release countdown ends — after that the full price applies.
Pre-Order NowFrequently asked questions
Does the Ultimate Edition change the story?
No. The campaign is identical in both editions; Ultimate adds cosmetic and online content.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later?
Upgrades depend on platform store policy after launch. Buying Ultimate up front is the cheaper route while the launch discount is live.
